A Brief Introduction to this Page's Purpose

Not Another Dime! is dedicated to documenting the assorted, and sometimes wild, details of Mr. Ken Whitman's business dealings within the Role Playing Game (RPG) industry. This place is NOT intended to be a medium of discussion about Mr. Whitman, pro or con, but instead be a "jumping off" point to enable the reader to make their own informed decision about Mr. Whitman's history and business character.

Whenever possible, links to the original source material will be provided, but in many cases that information may have been deleted or secured behind restricted-access (like a private Facebook page) accounts.

Anything posted here is the opinion of the retrospective author and any content shown is to be considered "fair use" and posted for educational purposes only.

Note to authors: Please begin each post with the original date of creation in the format of YYYY.MM.DD (i.e. 2015.08.08) so readers can use the Chronology page to find specific information. Please use appropriate tags when possible for the same reason.

2017.04.22 Ken "Whit" Whitman Selling More Acting Advice and Brush With The Walking Dead Greatness

2017.04.22 Ken "Whit" Whitman Selling More Acting Advice and Brush With The Walking Dead Greatness
Contrary to what we assume is Ken "Whit' Whitman's belief, Not Another Dime (For Ken Whitman) isn't opposed to the man making a buck or two, assuming that money is made legitimately.

We think that continuing to glom on to a few seconds of background work in The Walking Dead, and using those brief moments as credentials to teach inspiring actors is definitely pushing the envelope.

Our speculation is that this training session is being used as a means to find new people to market potential video work (demo reels, "creating a slate", etc.) where Ken "Whit" Whitman can use the equipment that he purchased (instead of renting) using funds from the KoDT:LAS Kickstarter. Instead of working on the projects he's already made a pretty penny on, Ken "Whit" Whitman is soliciting more money from newer fandoms.

Those who can, do.....those who can't teach (our apologies to any bona fide teachers).

We've added a couple hyperlinks to the announcement so you can see for yourself.

But wait...there's more!

2017.04.25 Edit
There was a video we linked to, but the video was removed. We do have a copy, but we don't plan on posting it.

We have noticed that a few folks have suggested that MCTG browse this site or just Google Ken "Whit" Whitman. We have also been forwarded an email exchange regarding this workshop (edits are ours):

"Hello XXXXXXXX, I'm involved with the Menifee Community Theatre Group. First, thank you for your concerns that you've brought up about Mr. Whitman. We appreciate all feedback, especially when it is of this nature. The event, however, has already passed. We were not aware of any such controversy before we booked the event and will be vetting our speakers more carefully in the future. We are a young group, we only became a very small organized group in March and are still learning the ropes. Mr. Whitman conducted himself in a polite manner during his visit and taught for 6 hours. The people that attended found it informative and helpful. There was very low attendance at the event and all of them were part of the theatre group management. I would like to make it clear that Mr. Whitman is not a member of MCTG or affiliated with us in any way. On another note, our Facebook page is watched carefully, and as I'm sure you know, we have had several people comment in the last few days. While not all of the comments were considered aggressive, some members felt that they should all be removed to protect the group's standing with the public. This was the only reason for any hidden comments or posts. Again, thank you for the concerns and advice, we take all constructive criticisms seriously and are always looking to improve. Please reach out to us in a pm if you would like to further discuss this or other issues."

2017.04.12 KoDT:LAS Backers Still Popping Up With Un-Filled Rewards

2017.04.12 KoDT:LAS Backers Still Popping Up With Un-Filled Rewards
We're willing to bet that most people's money is on Ken "Whit" Whitman never completing his Kickstarter projects. Regardless of what the man says or how many deadlines get kicked down the road, our money (well, a lot of people's money) is on the Chicago Cubs winning the Superbowl before Ken "Whit" Whitman fulfills his Kickstarter obligations.

Sure, Ken "Whit" Whitman says he'll have the KoDT:LAS project complete by August 2017, but for a project that has been 90% done for what (?) a year or two, there is so much outstanding. Case in point, Ken "Whit" Whitman can't even be bothered to email a subset-list of backers to KenzerCo. From a post from Jolly Blackburn on the KenzerCo forums (emphasis is ours):

"I ran a game in August for six backers (which actually spilled over to two). Ken never provided the backer list so I relied on backers contacting me directly to let me know they'd taken the option. Frustrating thing is people are still poppoing up who apparently gave him money for original art and such

It was a real mess with the way he simply disappeared.

Anyway, I suspected there might be a few stragglers and meant to post an inquiry but got distracted. I knew Kurt was dangling out there. If we can beat the bushes and find any others, I'd be glad to run a session and check that item off the list.

Sorry Ken chose to flame out on a license he took out from us. Why did he have to so completely self destruct on KODTLAS...?

He's blocked me on all fronts so there's no comunication btw. I hear he's claiming an August delivery date but I would bet cash money that's not going to happen. He's simplly going through the motions of STILL working on the project to keep the lawyers off his back."

2017.04.12 1st hand Account of Ken "Whit" Whitman's Lack of Work

We have to assume the email list is somewhere with those softcover KoDT: 20 Years of Covers books.....

2017.04.18 Update:

Even with all of the research and prep-work we've done here at NAD, we still get surprised by the depths that Ken "Whit" Whitman went to in order to fleece KoDT fans. Again, any emphasis is ours.

2017.04.18 Jolly Blackburn Update
"There were actually quite a few more than that. At least 18. Enough that I knew it would take three different sessions, maybe four to cover. (I find Roll20 can only comfortably handle 6 to 7 players at a time and at least 3 being D-Team members....

Ken apparently was selling slots with his website and other spam tsnuami offers.
He also promised some store appearances (outside KS) I knew nothing about. Think about that - the man actually promised ME to a store in Arizona. With no provisons for travel, lodging or even letting me know. Grrrr...

And don't get me started on the Knights of the Dinner Table guest appearances/cameos. I told him I could handle three - 23 people ended up on the list.

Of course that forced me to really dig deep creatively and the Pwn Brian Express storyline came out of it — but I lost a lot of Sanity points on that one."

2017.04.12 A Bit of an Explaination

2017.04.12 A Bit of an Explaination
We realize that our previous couple of posts contained comments from Ken "Whit' Whitman and a few people weren't too thrilled with Ken having any input here, even if it was just some published commentary.

Right off, we don't have any intention of allowing Ken "Whit" Whitman to use Not Another Dime (for Ken Whitman) as a medium to reach out to the many people who feel victimized by the man. In the past we didn't even moderate comments, but that proved problematic, so now everything is moderated.

In general though, any commentary Kenny had against us was fair game....to a point, and we think the points have been made.

What some readers of NAD might not know is that for the past couple years now we have heard, from multiple sources, that Ken "Whit' Whitman likes to:

  • Use multiple social media accounts for all the reasons you'd expect someone to use multiple accounts for (including some of the points mentioned next)
  • Claim he is being "picked on" online
  • Assert his many delayed/abandoned projects are being worked on and will be fulfilled...eventually
  • Claim multiple violations of assorted ambiguous laws, which have been reported to the authorities (usually the FBI)
Thanks to our earlier two posts we've been able to allow our readers to see a small sliver of Ken "Whit" Whitman's online activities 1st-hand. We don't really plan on making these permitted comments a regular thing, but if we get any particularly good examples we may again make an exception.

Documenting Ken "Whit" Whitman's weird and wacky behavior is kind of our purpose....if we keep one person from experiencing the belief they've been ripped off by Ken "Whit' Whitman by giving a good & true accounting (we really do try to document appropriately!) of past behavior, a commonly accepted approximation of future behavior, then the work is worthwhile.

2017.04.08 NAD Called Out by Our Main Man

2017.04.08 NAD Called Out by Our Main Man
It's been mentioned before that the comments here at Not another Dime (for Ken Whitman) are moderated mostly because we don't want Ken "Whit" Whitman using this space as a forum to attack his previous supporters-dare-we-say-victims.

In the past we've allowed/approved posts that were aimed at us, because....well why not?

This gem appeared in our comment box, and from what we've gathered from outside sources is pretty standard Ken "Whit" Whitman fare:

A few words from our main man
"If i get my projects done, then what do you say. Oh I'm sorry for making it hard on you.

Just like when you said i wasent a chance in hell i would be on Walking dead? And I was.

You sir, have no balls and hide behind this blog as a nameless peice of shit.

I think you are a hipocrate and you know damn good and well if you post your true identy It would be bad for you.
You are a coward, unlike me."

OK...where to start?

1st.....if....and it is a big if, you get your projects done, we'd make a big whoop-to-do about here at NAD. Seriously, though....we know it isn't going to happen. Yes, there is still time to actually produce a Blu-Ray and/or DVD of at least one of your video projects because those cans have been kicked down the road a few times...BUT, there is no way, as in actually impossible to fulfill all the obligations for at least the KoDT:LAS Kickstarter project .

Let's not forget all those softcover KoDT: 20 Years of Covers books.....

...or the production diary for the Castles & Crusades: Beyond the River project....

....or the pencil dice that have allegedly been on a boat for what? two years now?

Barring the existence of a working time-machine, there is a whole lot of project(s) pieces and parts that will never see the light of day as that ship has already sailed (well, not the actual pencil dice ships!)

2nd.....we don't recall ever stating something of a "chance in hell" of being on The Walking Dead, not that we (well, at least me...this particular author) think a far-background non-speaking extra counts. If we need to go back and print a retraction or square a post away on this, no problem there.

3rd.....it is entirely possible that some of our contributors do in fact lack testes. I wouldn't hold that against them and neither should Ken "Whit" Whitman, unless he is trying to work a misogynistic angle, but that's just wrong.

4th.....as far as our identities go, not really an issue. The focus of this blog is you Kenny...always has been. If this is a threat, it is a bit ambiguous. Also, the word is "hypocrite". There are several useful websites and plug-ins that can help you with your grammar and spelling, and you might want to avail yourself of those resources.

Update:
Ken "Whit" Whitman popped back in to comment, from a different social media account (how novel!). "Just to point out, if you are in the US and not stating your name, you are breaking federal law. Weirdly enough if you were a man about it, and jet stated who you are... no law is broken. So, yeah. Keep on keeping on. When i am done with these kickstarters that will give me 20 hours a week to focus on you. LEGALLY. So, laugh it up fuzzball."

Oh noes! Laws being broken left and right! Not!Weirdly enough Ken, YOU didn't post your name either, so are we to believe that you are also breaking federal law? OMG!

2017.03.31 Really Kenny....Really?

2017.03.31 Really Kenny....Really?
One of our editors/writers/whatever-needs-done folks here at Not Another Dime (for Ken Whitman) has to go through and periodically check the comments section because our comments are moderated. It helps keep our main man Ken "Whit" Whitman from using this site to poke & prod his many disappointed Kickstarter supporters.

A quick read through of Tenkar's Tavern....well it won't be a quick read there, but our "Ken Sez" page should get you there reasonably quick.....will show how Ken "Whit' Whitman likes to poke & prod supporters and/or people in general.

Another bad habit of dear old Kenny is to "burn through" social media accounts and regularly delete content/comments. This is one of the reasons we try to document his internet dealings so the information isn't lost or made difficult to find online by those not familiar with Ken "Whit" Whitman (or "new marks", in our opinion.)

Imagine our surprise, or lack thereof, when we had two comments waiting from a new social media account from the "Pick Axe Survivor":

"And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. -Matthew 8:26"

":-)"
Unpublished comments from Ken "Whit' Whitman

I wouldn't characterize anyone here at NAD as "fearful", but of "little faith".....regarding Ken "Whit" Whitman actually fulfilling his Kickstarters.....definitely. We have no faith whatsoever.
